The ToupTek Astro T-Forty carbon fiber tripod is designed for astrophotographers who need an ideal balance of portability and rigidity. Built with 39mm large-diameter carbon fiber legs and a 1.2mm thick high-strength wall, it provides stable support for modern lightweight harmonic mounts in the field.

High-Strength Carbon Fiber Construction
Premium 12-layer carbon fiber tubes with 1.2mm wall thickness and a 39mm oversized diameter deliver excellent anti-bending performance and field stability for outdoor astrophotography.
CNC-Machined Aluminum Structure
The main frame, leg joints, and mounting plate are made from precision CNC-machined aluminum alloy. A partial hollow design reduces weight while preserving strength and durability.
Quick-Release Mounting Plate
Features 3 × M6 mounting holes, locking set screws, a 3/8" center thread, and a quick-positioning groove for fast installation and high compatibility with harmonic mounts.
Dual-Purpose Center Bolt
The retractable center bolt supports both 3/8" center bolt mounting and M6 screw mounting, helping the tripod adapt to different equatorial and harmonic mount systems.
Reinforced Center Brace
The triangular center brace improves overall rigidity, helps prevent accidental leg collapse, and adds confidence when supporting valuable imaging equipment.
Counterweight Stone Bag Included
Add extra stability in windy conditions by hanging weight beneath the tripod, while also keeping small accessories organized in the field.
Wide Compatibility with Harmonic Mounts
The T-Forty tripod supports multiple mounting methods for different astrophotography setups, including M6 three-screw fixing, 3/8" center bolt mounting, and direct M6 mounting to the tripod frame for specific iOptron models.
Caution: When using M6 combination screws, check the recommended screw engagement depth for your mount. For example, Proxisky mounts require screw engagement depth to be less than 8mm.

Installation
- Extend the tripod legs and adjust to the desired height, then tighten all leg lock knobs.
- Place the quick mounting plate with the equatorial mount attached into the locating slot and secure it firmly.
- Slide the tripod center brace onto the dual-purpose center bolt and thread the 3/8"-16 stud into the mounting plate.
- Tighten the brace secure knob until the center brace fully supports all three tripod legs.

- Do not exceed the safe working load or use the tripod as a platform for standing or support.
- For heavy payloads, avoid fully extending all leg sections to improve rigidity.
- Use stainless steel spikes when supporting heavier equipment on uneven outdoor surfaces.
- Stop using the tripod if cracks or impact damage are found in the carbon fiber leg walls.
- Double-check all leg locks and ensure the center brace is correctly installed before attaching equipment.
