April 4-5, 2025 marked a pivotal moment for ToupTek Astro as the company participated for the first time in the 34th Annual Northeast Astronomy Forum and Space Expo (NEAF), held at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York. This event provided a stage for ToupTek Astro to introduce its imaging solutions to experts, hobbyists, and space enthusiasts.
Partnering with iOptron and Airy Disk, ToupTek Astro engaged directly with astrophotographers and visitors interested in cameras, telescopes, and accessories.
A Showcase of Excellence
ToupTek Astro attended the 34th NEAF Expo with new product information for StellaVita, HOPE series telescopes, and the GPM174M guide camera. ToupTek also showcased astrophotography cameras and accessories, including SkyEye series deep-sky cooled cameras, ATR series deep-sky cooled cameras, G3M series planetary and guide cameras, astronomical filters, off-axis guiders (OAG), astro filter wheels (AFW), guide scopes, and astro automatic focusers (AAF).
Spotlight on the Upcoming New Releases
StellaVita
Officially launched in March 2025, the smart astronomy wireless controller StellaVita drew attention among the overseas astrophotography community. StellaVita offers an open compatibility ecosystem, supporting multiple brands of astrophotography equipment and giving users greater freedom in their imaging workflows.
HOPE Series Telescope
At the heart of the display were the ToupTek Astro HOPE series telescopes. HOPE series is a self-developed apochromatic telescope line with two variants: a 60mm effective aperture model with 280mm focal length and f/4.7 focal ratio, and an 80mm effective aperture model with 560mm focal length and f/7 focal ratio.
The HOPE Series represents ToupTek Astro's first step into telescope manufacturing and is a significant step toward more complete imaging solutions for astrophotography users. The HOPE series telescope had not yet been officially launched at the time of this article.
GPM174M Guide Camera
The GPM174M guide camera features the Sony IMX249 mono sensor with a resolution of 1920*1200, achieving higher sensitivity with a high QE of over 89%. The existing GPM series cameras include GPM462M, GPCMOS02000KPA, GPCMOS02000KMA, and GPCMOS1200KPF.
One of the standout features of the GPM series, including the GPM174M, is the built-in frame buffer function. This function enables more stable data transmission and helps reduce amp-glow, a type of noise that can degrade image quality in low-light conditions.

The Northeast Astronomy Forum and Space Expo is widely regarded as an influential astronomy event, attracting scientists, engineers, educators, and amateur astrophotographers. For ToupTek Astro, participating in NEAF was not just about showcasing products; it was also a chance to join a global conversation on the future of astrophotography.
